Shot description/Shooting plan

This list below is the shots i wish to shoot, and also in a similar order when i come to editing. Although when i come to actually editing the music video it could change, i need a clear vision in my head of exactly what i need to get out of the filming and a clear vision for what my music video may look like. So although this is subject to change, I feel that getting it all down will help me see a clear vision of what I need to film and how.
Key
 Location/Scene 1- Dance Routine/Studio
 Location/Scene 2- Brick Wall/Backstreet
 Location/Scene 3- Glam/Studio
 Location/Scene 4- Studio/Chair
 Location/Scene 5- Hunk/Male Actor

VERSE 1

  • Face into scene from black screen.
  • An out of focus figure (Alice), slowly comes into focus as she walks towards the camera with hood up (Medium Shot)
  • Dance scene, cut between parts of dancing in time with the opening of the song before lyrics start, 20 second opening before lyrics. (Long shots and medium, and maybe a few close ups of head and shoulders looking up slightly) Fast paced dance style to go with constant movement of the camera here, plenty of cutting between parts of the dance.
  • Split screen of the dance, some zoomed in, some more long shot, very fast paced cutting.
  • Lyrics start 'So.. he got big brown eyes', very close up on face, especially highlighting the eyes, again slight movement of the camera to keep pace. (Initially extreme closeup of face, then cut to see location and area more zoomed out)
  • Jump cuts to the male scene. extreme close ups and pans over male, shallow focus styled to concentrate solely on the aspects of male's body, reenforcing the lyric such as 'Six pack showin'.
  • Jump back to the artist singing about the male, back to brick wall scene, but plenty of cutting between the objectified male and the artist miming. (A few extreme closeups of mouth miming lyrics, and other objectifying closeups such as eyes)
  • Some more close ups of Alice's facial expressions, especially throughout the 'ohhh oooooh' lines where she will be miming those parts.
  • Near the end of the end of the first verse, the lyric says 'nothin rude, but way to short for me'. At this point i want Alice to do a diva style hand gesture implying his height in the dance routine scene. This will be cut from an objectifying shot of George, then her diminishing him.

CHORUS
  • Outfit change/Location, we now see her 'Glammed up', lots of long shots cut between close ups, fully showing off her figure and how good she looks. A lot of close ups still of Alice especially through hand gestures. Camera continually moving, no tripod required.
  • Close ups of George miming the line 'Extra Smooth' cut between Alice miming the came line.
  • Dance routine, Alice busting a move, medium shot.
  • Cut back to the brick wall scene, Male scene and snippets of the dance routine carrying on, all in time with the music.

VERSE 2

  • Introduction of final scene for the beginning of second verse. Alice initially standing against the wall miming the lyric then Alice walking towards the camera with the camera backing away.
  • Cut to Dance studio and dance routine, Alice now with her hood down, a few close ups of her face and more dance.
  • A CCTV style shot of Alice behind all the graffiti looking shifty. high angle shot.
  • Glam scene, closeup of Alice miming again. Fan on her face blowing all her hair away from her face revealing her face.
  • Over the shoulder shot of Alice looking into the mirror of dance studio and dancing. (Carefully not showing camera in shot)
  • More scenes of George, again close up pans, as well as longer shots with George casually leant up against the wall.

CHORUS

  • More of George, especially through areas where there is no lyric, only 'Oooh's. More of the same style of shot, (Closeup, mid shot, just fully showing George on the camera)
  • Alice miming again, maybe experiment with overlaying shots on top of each other throughout the dance routine, make it look more on the edge.
  • Mid shots of Alice miming more, in glam outfit, more objectifying shots of her hands, legs, hips etc.
  • Again, similar styled shots throughout the music video with the brick wall featured more with quick cuts. No more than 2-4 seconds per cut.
  • Chair shot, Very similar posture to Ciara's music video 'Promise' and a long shot to fit Alice's whole body as well as the chair in.
  • (All of these scenes probably will be cut together)

EXTENDED CHORUS/VERSE

  • Glam Scene, very stylish scenes exaggerating her eye makeup and other features.
  • More very heavily exaggerated actions from Alice, especially highlighted by using appropriate shot lengths/Styles.
  • Finish with a very similar shot to the opening where she walks towards the camera changing focus to be in focus as she arrives at the camera, but with her walking away from the camera with a similar focus effect.
  • Fade to black screen
